Welcome to your Official Affordable Cosmetic Surgery Network!Need some good Affordable Cosmetic Surgery advice? We're here to help!Male Cosmetic SurgeryMale Cosmetic Surgery Has Become Commonplace. When plastic surgery first became popular, it was only used for reconstructive purposes. Plastic surgery eventually became acceptable for cosmetic purposes - but only for women. For years, male cosmetic surgery was considered effeminate and vain. However, male cosmetic surgery eventually gained acceptance amongst the general population to the extent that today, most people do not even blink when they hear about it. Most cosmetic surgery is not gender specific. Men and women both can get abdominoplasty (tummy tucks), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), buttock augmentation, chemical peels, rhinoplasty (nose jobs), liposuction, chin augmentation and face lifts. Generally, male cosmetic surgery does not include breast augmentation or reduction. However, there have been rare cases where men have developed gynecomastia (abnormally large mammary glands) and needed breast reduction. One type of procedure that is unique to male cosmetic surgery is phalloplasty. Phalloplasty is commonly known as penis enlargement. For a healthy male with no penile problems or desire to transition to the opposite sex, this male cosmetic surgery is highly frivolous and unnecessary. Male cosmetic surgery has revealed that men can be just as vain as women regarding their appearance. Other popular types of male cosmetic surgery include hair transplants, neck lifts and implants that increase the size and appearance of muscles (the male "boob job"). Many men suffering from male pattern baldness get hair transplants in an attempt to extend their hairline and get a full head of hair. Other men get neck lifts in order to remove hanging excess skin (turkey waddle) that makes them look older. Men may also choose to get chest, calf, bicep or tricep implants. These implants create a more muscular appearance and are an expensive and complicated alternative to simply exercising. A man interested in increasing volume or the appearance of muscle can choose to have a fat transfer instead of an implant. |
